Looking for the most intense eargasm of your life? Look no further than DJ GALLEN. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, GALLEN has been on top of the club scene for some time. He is influenced by local and worldwide DJs and producers, but GALLEN has a technique and style you wont hear anywhere else. Dubstep, glitch hop, bass, crunk and laser are a few of the genres he bumps to work the crowd into a deep submission. He uses souldful samples on top of brain busting basslines, and you feel the music throughout your entire body. You can see his energy and passion for music at his shows, and you cannot help but to get on the floor and feel that bass run through your veins!! GALLEN is a must have at any show.
FREDDY FUNK
Born an raised in the 503, this DJ was there to whitness the birth of the Portland party scene. No stranger to the warehouses and night clubs that encompass, Freddy Funk has been rocking crowds for over 10 years in Portland as well as various other states. Known for keepin shit funky and fresh, Freddy Funk will always keep the crowd groovin’ from start to finish.
MLORD
Michael Lord, or as most call him MLORD first started playing and supporting the scene in the year of 1995. Jungle and Break Beats are what sparked life into this veteran DJ at a young age. Since then MLORD has played along side a lot of our greats from Craze to RAW, Andy C to DJ Icee, MLORD has opened for and headlined many events up and down the west coast.
Having experienced the scene with so many greats MLORD started playing a big part into the development of the electronic music scenes in Portland, Or. , Phoenix, Az., and some even in Seattle, Wa. , Since 2001. Throwing as many as 15 registered events and many, many underground shows (as at the beginning they all were renegades) the knowledge and professionalism shows through in his demeanor and performances.
Starting music production after years of promotion and shows, MLORD has found his niche in the DNB and Dubstep Genres when producing. Already featured on a variety of remixes, MLORD is making a major push in the year of 2011 to finally showcase his own work. Be on the lookout very soon if not at your performance of a variety of originals. When seeing a set of MLORD’s be prepared for a journey of sound and energy. Whether it be a smooth mellow liquid set, or a hard hitting get you up and dancing set, or even a ragga influenced jungle set, he chops, fades rinses, scratches and send you on that journey in the form of one of the great DJ performances today.
HEDFLUX
Harnessing the rational to illuminate the transcendental, Steve Young aka Hedflux is synthesising a gleaming new event-horizon of controlled, pulsating energy across dancefloors worldwide. Unifying chunky tech-funk with refined psychedelia, the result is a stylistic hybrid that whips together laser precision engineering, liquid tight grooves and a visceral, rampaging energy.
His seminal 2010 track Mindcell found a strong resonance in the collective, spending 10 weeks at the top of the Beatport breaks chart, becoming the 3rd top selling breaks track of the year and scooping the coveted “Best Track” award at the 2011 Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards. Exemplifying the Hedflux sound, Mindcell delivers distinctive tough beats, molten basslines and an evolving stratum of resonant synth sorcery, illuminating expansive crystalline spaces in the frequency domain while remaining firmly rooted to the dancefloor.
Starting as a deejay at the tender age of 15, Steve honed his music production skills in parallel with an academic interest in physics and mathematics. This life long obsession with truth led to obtaining a PhD in quantum physics in 2004, but left him intellectually disoriented, with an unraveling faith in the traditional scientific worldview. Five subsequent years of unsatisfying employment inspired him to pour ever more love and energy into music and spiritual growth, finally summoning the courage to let go of the corporate world, pursue his creative ambitions full-time and trust in the consequences.
Within the first year of that fateful decision, Hedflux turned out remixes for legendary tech funk labels Lot49 and U&A, as well as the chart-smashing originals Revolve and Rhythm Prism on Broken Robot Records. Armed with these plus a ground-breaking collection of unreleased exclusives, Steve organised a tour of Australia and New Zealand in January 2011 and played no fewer than 8 highly successful gigs over a three week period, including a peak time performance to around 10,000 people at the awesome Rainbow Serpent Festival.
Steve returned from Oz to 3 Breakspoll nominations for “Best New Producer”, “Best New DJ” and “Best Track”, with Broken Robot receiving nominations for “Best Label” and “Best New Label”. Winning the Best Track award against competition from the Stanton Warriors, Elite Force and Noisia, Hedflux has become forever associated with some of the most influential artists in the breaks scene.
His pioneering psychedelic tech-funk has sparked a flame in a new generation of sublimely talented producers who are now stepping up to elevate the sound to a fresh level of universality. And as the aftershocks of his monumental Australasian tour oscillate vividly across borders, more and more cultures are grooving to the infectious sonic geometries of this alchemical music.
Steve can also be found writing on the subject of science and spirituality for the critically acclaimed LSD Magazine, documenting his spiritual and intellectual journey with soul-bearing honesty and open mindedness.
