About King Niko & Hang Time:
Salt Lake City Weekly's Band of the Year, King Niko is a hot young band from Salt Lake City formed in 2009 for the purpose of making chicks dance. King Niko will get under your skin and stuck in your head with memorable hooks, catchy choruses and clever lyrics. The high-energy, fist pumping, foot stomping power of King Niko's live shows have earned them a spot on the stage with acts like Rooney, Electric Six, Say Anything and 30 Seconds to Mars.
When Hang Time got together they wanted to create their own sound that paid homage to the decades of music that have influenced them: From the Kinks and Beatles to the 80s and 90s. Hang Time's debut, self-titled album, combines classic four-piece band instrumentation with heavy synth and keyboard. Hang Time has opened for acts such as Icky Blossoms, Tilly & The Wall, The Octopus Project, and Washed Out.
About New Electric Sound & The North Valley:
The New Electric Sound has a sound that falls between today's music and an older era. You will swear that you've heard their catchy songs before, but you will find that you never have. The biggest complaint is that people can't get their songs out of their head.
The North Valley is a young but ambitious quintet from Salt Lake City. The group consists of Dane Sandberg, Spenny Relyea, Jon Butler, Kramer McCausland, & Spencer Sayer. The North Valley's sound is equal parts rock & roll, southern rock, and modern Americana. The band formed in late 2011 but had already found a welcome place in SLC's music scene. They have big plans for 2013 including a full-length album and a national tour.
About Golden Sun & Polytype:
Golden Sun is from Salt Lake City and have released two self produced EPS, Wine Country" and "Golden Sun". Their approach to musical creation lends itself well to listener response in both the recorded realm and live performances.
Polytype is an indie/electronic band from Provo. The band's first CD, "Basic/Complex" was released in February of this year. Polytype strives to create an immersive experience for the participant.
About The Souvenirs & The Hollering Pines:
The Souvenirs bring life to style of country all its own. These sisters draw you in with harmony-laden lyrics reminiscent of an earlier era.
The Hollering Pines feature blood tight collaboration in both the songwriting and singing. Electric & lap-steel guitar rounds out the sound. The band presents stories about long nights and short lives. Their brand of Americana draws on the strength of a tube-driven radio signal, parting a sea of static, bouncing off heaven and back to earth.
