The Choral Arts Society of Utah

The Choral Arts Society of Utah's 100-voice SATB choir, the Choral Arts Society Master Chorale, is based in Salt Lake City. The members come from all walks of life, volunteering their time and talents to provide quality entertainment for the community. Many of their performances are benefit concerts for schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to local areas.

This year’s KUTV Holiday Pops Concert featuring the Choral Arts Society of Utah and West Valley Symphony, will kick-off the Holiday season performing your favorite Christmas music.  Joining the concert this year is Internationally-acclaimed Contemporary Guitarist Michael Dowdle.
We wish to thank the Boeing Employees Community Fund and KUTV 2News, our major sponsors for this event.

Michael Dowdle began doing studio work professionally as a session guitarist in 1980, and has since done thousands of sessions in every style of music. Some were for artists such as Marie Osmond, The Osmond Brothers, John Schneider, Mr. T, and The Jets. Michael has played on several movie scores, including "Born to Be Wild," "The Stand," "Christmas in Connecticut," "The Yearling," and "Hart to Hart" among many others. Most of the studio work Michael does is for TV Networks, such as ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, as well as cable networks such as CNBC, TNT, and the USA network. This work includes ABC Sports Main Theme, ABC College Football, ABC Monday Night Football, FOX Fall Campaigns, and also TV shows such as Good Morning America (ABC), The Today Show (NBC), The Oprah Winfrey Show and many more.  Future engagements for Mr. Dowdle can be found on his website at: www.michaeldowdle.com.

Members of the 100-voice Master Chorale volunteer their time and talents to provide quality performances, many of which benefit schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to the local area, including this benefit concert for the KUTV Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.  The West Valley Symphony, with nearly 70 musicians, is one of the premier community orchestras in the State, and celebrates eleven years at the Holiday Pops.  The orchestra and the Choral Arts Society of Utah Master Chorale look forward to a concert that will benefit hundreds of children and senior citizens along the Wasatch Front.  Over the years, the Holiday Pops Concert has donated nearly $50,000 to the Salvation Army for this benefit, providing gifts of the season to hundreds of children and seniors along the Wasatch Front.  Bring the kids, a special appearance by Santa  with the audience sing-a-long is sure to put you in the Holiday spirit. - casu.org
