WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--

The Pac-12 Conference office released the 2014 football schedule today and Utah will play non-conference games against Idaho State, Fresno State and Michigan before tackling its nine-game Pac-12 schedule. The game at Michigan on Sept. 20 begins a home-and-home series that will see the Wolverines make their first visit to Salt Lake City in 2015. The Utes will play mostly on Saturdays next fall, with two Thursday exceptions against Idaho State in Rice-Eccles Stadium on Aug. 28 and Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore, on Oct. 16.

The Utes have no extended road or home stands slated, and have just two back-to-back affairs: home games against Idaho State and Fresno State to open the season, and road games at UCLA (Oct. 4) and Oregon State (Oct. 16) that are separated with a bye. The Utes also have a bye in the third week of the season.

Oregon, the only team that has not visited Rice-Eccles Stadium since Pac-12 Conference play began in 2011, will come to town on Nov. 8. Washington State is Utah's homecoming opponent on Sept. 27.

"When it comes to competing in the Pac-12 Conference there are no weeks off and a non-conference schedule that includes Michigan and Fresno State will be challenging as well," said Utah Coach Kyle Whittingham. "As was the case this past season, our schedule should prove to be among the toughest in the country, which is the kind of competitive situation you expect when you are a member of one of the nation's premier conferences. Both the players in our program and our incoming recruits look forward to competing at the highest level."

The Pac-12 Football Championship game is set for Saturday, Dec. 5 on the home field of the team with the best overall conference record and will be televised by FOX.

Every football game played at Pac-12 sites will be televised. A combination of the ESPN channels, ABC, FOX and FOX Sports 1 will broadcast 44 games nationally and Pac-12 Networks will offer 35 games to a national audience. Exact broadcast schedules will be determined at a later date.

"The depth of our conference will be on display every week next season," said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. "Coming off a record nine teams competing in this year's bowl season, next season's nine-game conference schedule will be the toughest in the nation."
